How do I find Creative Commons materials to use?
Answer
The Creative Commons website provides several search tools to specifically look for materials that are licensed under Creative Commons. Outside of this, many websites provide a way to search for items by license.
- Google Images – After conducting a search, select “Tools” and then “Usage Rights”
- Flickr – After conducting a search, click, “Any License” to select a Creative Commons license
- YouTube – After conducting a search, select “Filter,” then under “Features,” click, “Creative Commons”
Since many of these sites allow people to upload content directly, there may be items that are listed as Creative Commons incorrectly. Please exercise caution.
