What does “Attribution” mean in in Creative Commons?
Answer
"Attribution" is a feature that can be added to a Creative Commons license to restrict a creative work’s use. “Attribution,” (or BY) means that when the work is used in any way the original creator must be credited. Failure to do so is an infringement of the Creative Commons license.
Licenses can have multiple features including, “Share-Alike,” “No-Derivatives,” “Attribution,” and “Non-Commercial.” These licenses can stand on their own or combined to create different licenses.
